Who we are

Founded in 2018, KWSe (Kyoto Welcome Supporter English) is a member of the Japan National Tourism Organization as an SGG (Systematized Goodwill Guide). We are senior volunteers who provide hospitality and other helpful services. We aspire for international tourists to discover more of Kyoto and to enjoy our city to the fullest. It is our pleasure to show you Kyoto through our locals’ eyes. And we also hope you will explore our local authentic culture.

Our Volunteer Activities

We support international tourists by providing information and helping to solve problems, at Kyoto’s famous well-known spots and at festivals and events. You can spot us wearing [what do we wear? Blue vests with Logo!]

What Is the City of Kyoto?

Kyoto was the capital of Japan where the emperors lived, for over 1200 years until the capital was moved to Tokyo about 150 years ago. There are many World Heritage Sites to visit and enjoy. We look forward to enhancing your visit to Kyoto, and want to encourage you to explore our city and culture on your own.
